More About The Coffee
Alirio faces two big challenges: climate change affecting flowering and harvest, and high input costs. To improve his coffee quality, he's planning to invest in a mechanical dryer for more consistent results. Alirio handpicks ripe cherries, pulps, ferments, and washes them, then dries the parchment on raised beds for even drying.
One of the standout varieties he's growing is Caturron, a unique coffee from Huila, Colombia. It’s a mystery variety believed to have originated from an abandoned research farm in Acevedo. Known for its large cherries and distinctive flavours, Caturron is now spreading across the region. We're excited to offer this rare and delicious coffee!
